A New Home for Maritime Events
Dear Friends of Maritime Events,
Thank you to everyone who joined us in the garden of the Poseidonia Beach Hotel on Saturday, 10 October – the German Evening was once again a night of friendship, good food and great music, and it was the perfect way to close one chapter and open the next.
Because today we are moving into a new home: the website you are reading this on. We built it ourselves, from the ground up, so that it can grow with our community instead of holding it back.
Why a New Home?
Over the years Maritime Events has grown from a single evening into a calendar of events – the Cyprus Shipping Rally, the German Evening and more. The tools behind them grew piece by piece: one website, a separate shop, a separate rally app. It worked, but it was never as easy for you as it should have been.
The new website brings all of it together in one place.
What’s New
One account for everything. Sign in with your email address – we send you a link, no password to remember. Add a passkey from your profile and next time it is a single tap.
Tickets in your account. Buy tickets straight from the event pages. Every ticket comes to its holder by email with its own QR code, and you can always find it again under My Account → Tickets.
Rally teams, sorted. The person who buys a car chooses its captain; the captain names the team and adds the team mates, and every team mate receives their own ticket. T-shirt sizes are collected along the way, so nobody has to chase them on the day.
The rally app moves in. What used to be play.maritime.cy is now part of this website and uses the same account – no more team PINs or station passwords.
Newsletters on your terms. Choose which newsletters you receive from your profile, any time.
Notifications, if you want them. Switch on notifications on your phone and we will let you know about changes to an event you are part of – never marketing.
Our sponsors, front and centre. Every sponsor logo links to the sponsor’s own website. They make our events possible, and we want you to get to know them.
Old Links Still Work
Bookmarks and links to the old site take you to the right page here, and all of our past articles have moved with us to the Blog.
Tell Us What You Think
A new home always needs a little settling in. If something does not work as you expect, or if you have an idea that would make the website more useful for the community, write to us at [email protected] – we read every message.
Next stop: the Cyprus Shipping Rally. We can’t wait to see you there.
Warm regards, Your Maritime Events Team
