Kick-Off: The Shipping Community Football Champion – Now With an Office Competition

Maritime Events

Dear Friends of Maritime Events,

Many of you know our football prediction game from the World Cup and European Championship rounds – the friendly rivalries, the last-minute bets and the endless debates in the office kitchen. Today we are proud to launch the Shipping Community Football Champion, the next version of that game, now built right into your Maritime Events account.

How It Works

  • Sign in and join. Once you are signed in, you will find Football Champion in your account. One tap and you are in.

  • Predict every match. Enter your score for each match – you can change it until the moment of kick-off.

  • Pick your winners. Before the tournament gets going, name the champion and the runner-up for bonus points.

  • Play your jokers. Feeling confident? A joker doubles your points for a match – but you only get a few, so choose wisely.

  • Score points. The exact result earns 3 points, the right goal difference 2, the right winner 1. Results come in automatically, so the leaderboard is always up to date.

Alongside the World Cup and the European Championship, the game now supports the UEFA Champions League too – so there is football to predict all season long, not just every other summer.

New: The Office Competition

This is the part we are most excited about. Create a group for your company, your department or your friends, and invite your colleagues by email or with a link. Your group shows how you rank among each other – and the same predictions count everywhere, so there is nothing extra to fill in.

Then opt your group into the Office Competition, where groups compete against each other. Groups are ranked by their average points per member, so a small team of five has exactly the same chance as a fleet of fifty. Which shipping company has the sharpest football minds in Cyprus? Let’s find out.

Glory, Not Money

There are no stakes and no prizes in cash – just bragging rights. When a tournament ends, the champion and the runner-up receive a badge on their profile, for everyone at the next event to admire.

Your Privacy

Other players see your name and your points – and, once a match has kicked off, your prediction for it. They never see your email address or your company.

Ready to play? Sign in and open Football Champion in your account. Good luck – and may the best tipster win!

Warm regards, Your Maritime Events Team
